Felix Tosses His First Bullpen of the Spring

Felix Hernandez took the bump for his first bullpen of the spring this morning in front of a large crowd of fans and media.

Behind the Scenes at Photo Day

Mariners players and coaches arrived to the Peoria Sports Complex early this morning for the annual Spring Training tradition, Photo Day. Media members from organizations including Getty Images,, AP, USA Today, Kyodo News, MLB Photos and Topps set up photo stations both inside and outside the Mariners complex to shoot photos for the 2016 season.

Griffey or Guti?

Before each player poses for photos on Photo Day, the Mariners baseball information staff records each player saying his name for pronunciation. Franklin Gutierrez said his name was one every Mariners fan is familiar with, but we know better.

Felix Meets With the Media

After throwing around 40 pitches in his first bullpen, Felix met with the media and said he was happy with how he felt.

Another bat vendor, Axis Bats, was in camp today to showcase their products.
